Unlike most Credentials Verification Organizations (CVOs) or trendy software packages, we provide the best of all worlds: JCAHO and NCQA compliant credentialing, privileging and primary source verification (PSV) services, advanced data warehousing and reporting capabilities, and the in-depth knowledge and hands-on approach of our experienced credentialing staff. CMO's credentialing process focuses on documenting and verifying a provider's professional credentials including education, training, experience, licensure, and competence. We provide initial credentialing as well as recredentialing services. Our unique customer-oriented approach ensures that we stay in contact with providers at every step of the credentialing process. CMO helps hospitals and provider networks establish a state-of-the-art data warehouse that creates a secure provider profile and credentialing record for each professional. Hard copy records, licenses, certificates and even photographs can be scanned and stored electronically. Paper backup is maintained in secure facilities. We assess all information to determine if a provider is qualified and competent to provide care to patients. CMO maintains records of all verification activities, database queries, online requests, phone calls and letters. When recredentialing is required, CMO complies with the individual health plans' policies, credentialing standards and the bylaws of each provider organization. The Credentialing Office complies with the standards of the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) Hospital and Network Standards, New York State Department of Health regulations, and delegation agreements with each health plan.
